If you really like Sea Shanties, the Tea House Theatre(https://www.teahousetheatre.co.uk/ )in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens has regular Sea Shanty Shows, the next one on 20th June.

You really should visit The Tea House Theatre, it is one of those odd places scattered all over London. As well as Sea Shanty shows, they also have regular jazz jam sessions, and other entertainment.

Did you realise Sea Shanty Shows is a tricky tongue twister!! I did enjoy though not around 20 June. I would like to go to The Tea House Theatre, it sounds charming and quirky - we should make a plan for over the summer.

Sounds a wonderful way to do a Sunday! Really sorry to hear you've been ill, and glad you're on the mend. The pic of the £6.00 croissant of the week made serious dents in my willpower. Glad I was not in the neighbourhood!!

And I was very sorry not to have got to the British library yesterday!

Re the tiny artichokes – you have to remove distressing amounts of outer leaves for them to be edible!

Thanks Lizzie, It was an incredible croissant and shared it made more sense. They also do outstanding almond and chocolate croissants which I had to wean myself off and save for a treat. If you are ever near Balham, let me know and we will indulge. I wondered if I wasn't being drastic enough on the artichokes. Approx how many layers of outer leaves would you remove?

Hi Sudi,

That sounds like an excellent – if dangerous idea! I actually come to … weight watchers… on Friday mornings – but not for the next coupled kit would be an ironically marvellous treat meet afterwards one day!

You really need to remove all the green ones. Agonising.
